Our Story
Wild Pickled Blueberries are more than just a jarred fruit. They are an ancestral gesture of preservation, born from the knowledge shared by Indigenous peoples and brought to new form by 17th century European pioneers in New England, a way to honor memory by capturing the best of nature, slowly and with care.
Inspired by the fleeting wild blueberry season, when the hills and fields of Maine turn a deep blue for just two short weeks, Wild Pickled Blueberries were born as a gourmet delicacy that captures the fragrance and freshness of summer.
We use only organic ingredients and honor the natural rhythm of the berries, ensuring that each season’s flavorcan be enjoyed all year round.
Our mission is also to support Maine’s local economy by helping bring this treasured wild berry to broader markets, preserving not just the fruit, but the livelihoods it sustains.

As an archivist, I’ve always believed that everything is history. Organizing an archive is, at its core, about telling the story of those who created the documents. In the same way, I believe that flavor can tell powerful stories.
When I moved to Maine, I discovered wild blueberries and their brief harvest, which lasts only two weeks each year. What seemed fleeting became a source of inspiration.
Using traditional New England techniques, I created a way to preserve that moment: this is how the Wild Pickled Blueberries were born, the signature product of Planet Naskeag.
Founded in 2019, Planet Naskeag is more than a brand, it’s a tribute to nature, seasonality, and artisanal craft. Each jar carries a belief: that food can hold memory, emotion, and poetry.
